Αυτήν την Παρασκευή, οι κορυφαίοι skyrunners του κόσμου ανεβαίνουν στον ουρανό πάνω από το Zermatt για τον πανίσχυρο αγώνα Matterhorn Ultraks " EXTREME ", τον ένατο αγώνα του 2023 Skyrunner® World Series. Από το ντεμπούτο του το 2019, το Matterhorn Ultraks " EXTREME ", ένας πανέμορφος αλλά και απαιτητικός αγώνας, έχει γίνει πόλος έλξης για τους πιο τεχνικά καταρτισμένους skyrunners της σειράς.

Μετά το UTMB και το Skyrunner® World Series προχώρησε σήμερα σε αποκλεισμό των αθλητών από τη Ρωσία και Λευκορωσία από τις διοργανώσεις του. Η ανακοίνωση της διοργάνωσης έχει ως εξής:

The official skyrunning circuit is back. The 2022 Skyrunner® World Series presents a calendar of 13 world-class Sky Races, a new race tier system and the return of both the SkyMasters AND the legendary SWS winner’s bib. The quest to be crowned the best skyrunner in the world begins in France with Skyrace des Matheysins on the 8th of May 2022. From here, the global circuit visits 11 stunning and highly technical Sky Races in 10 different countries before reaching the main event of the year – the SkyMasters. At each race, skyrunners from around the world will be competing for top positions to qualify for the SkyMasters and to accumulate points towards the overall ranking.

The Skyrunner® World Series has unveiled Merrell as an official supplier of the 2020 season. 2019 SkyMasters champion, Denisa Dragomir of Romania, is one of the big names to join the newly expanded Merrell athlete team competing in the official circuit. Despite changes to the 2020 calendar as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic, the Skyrunner® World Series and Merrell look forward to joining forces for the 2020 season with the goal of keeping enthusiasm within the global community high and encouraging more athletes – elite and non-elite – to get involved with the sport.

Due to the global effects of the Coronavirus COVID-19, the Skyrunner® World Series has made the decision that no race of the 2020 circuit will be held before the end of July. As it stands today, the upcoming season will start with Skyrace® Comapedrosa on the 26^th of July 2020. These necessary precautions have been taken in accordance with guidelines from the authorities and to protect the health and safety of all those involved. The Skyrunner® World Series team is dedicated to providing support to athletes and race organisers affected by the current situation and preparations are already underway for a full 2021 comeback.
