Μια μικρή εισαγωγή..

Πρώτη φορά που άκουσα για το νησί της Μαδέρα ήταν το 2019, όταν είδα τον αγώνα Madeira Skyrace σε ένα βίντεο του Skyrunner World Series. Αμέσως έψαξα το μέρος και ένα ταξίδι εκεί μου καρφώθηκε στο μυαλό. Τα χρόνια πέρασαν και σιγά σιγά οι υπεραποστάσεις ήρθαν στη ζωή μου, έτσι ο στόχος άλλαξε και μετονομάστηκε σε MIUT – Madeira Island Ultra Trail. Πρόκειται για έναν αγώνα ορεινού τρεξίματος μήκους 120 χιλιομέτρων με 7.000 μ. υψομετρική διαφορά. Ανήκει στη σειρά αγώνων World Trail Majors και είναι μία από τις μεγαλύτερες διοργανώσεις του κόσμου. Πρώτη φορά προσπάθησα να συμμετάσχω πριν από έναν χρόνο, αλλά οι εγγραφές έκλεισαν πολύ γρήγορα και δεν πρόλαβα. Έτσι μπήκε η υπενθύμιση για την επόμενη χρονιά, και φέτος ήρθε η ώρα για το μαγικό αυτό ταξίδι!

Σπουδαία εμφάνιση από τον Κωνσταντίνο Παραδεισόπουλο, ο οποίος κέρδισε τον αγώνα των 60Κ (56K, +3.350m στην πραγματικότητα) στο Madeira Island Ultra Trail (MIUT), με επίδοση 5.24.29 μετά από μια εξαιρετική εμφάνιση! Πήρε την πρωτοπορία στο Chão das Feiteiras στο 30.8Km της διαδρομής και .. δεν ξανακοίταξε πίσω!

At midnight on Saturday, April 27, the 15th edition of the Madeira Island Ultra-Trail began, with the 115 km race, the longest, crossing the island of Madeira in a northwest-southeast direction. The start was in Porto Moniz, at sea level, followed over the next few hours by passes through the island's highest points. Then, with daylight, the race will return to sea level for the finish line in Machico, with the finish scheduled for early afternoon.

Here comes the 15th edition of the Madeira Island Ultra-Trail. Over the next few days, the Madeira island will be the stage for all things trail running, with the particularity of reaching a record number of entries: 3481 in total. 2300 are foreign athletes. 58 nationalities will be represented. France, with 1192 athletes, is the most represented country, followed by Portugal (1003). The MIUT is one of the founding events of the World Trail Majors, the new world trail running circuit.
