A Pyrenees Stage Run with changes opens registrations after reaching the limit in the Costa Brava Stage Run!

Από 29 Νοε 2022

The Pyrenees Stage Run will open registrations for its 7th edition on Wednesday, November 30, just a few days after the Costa Brava Stage Run, also organized by BiFree Sports, closed registrations 5 months before the race. The Pyrenees Stage Run will take place from Sunday, the 3rd to Saturday, the 9th of September, 2023, starting in Ribes de Freser and finishing in Salardú, as in the last editions, but with many changes in the route of the first 3 days.

The first stage will follow new paths at the beginning to face the climb to Balandrau, thus reducing the initial km of dirt-road that were followed now, but the great novelty comes with a new stage finish in “Vall de Núria”, where we will arrive through Torreneules Col instead of “Camí dels Enginyers”. The arrival in “Vall de Núria” will undoubtedly be one of the attractions of this edition, since it is an incomparable setting for the end of the stage. The runners will go down to sleep again to Ribes de Freser with the rack railway (as in past editions it was done from Queralbs) and the next day the start of the 2nd stage will be from Núria again and with a totally new route!

The stage will begin warming up towards Fontalba, to then face the climb to the peak of Puigmal, 2909m of altitude and which will become the highest point of the entire route. From Puigmal we will go down following the ridge to Creu de Meians, the town of La Molina and the ski resort of La Masella, which will be a new stage finish as well.

After spending the night in La Masella, a bus will take the runners to Guils to start the 3rd stage, which will be shortened in its initial kilometres. All these changes have been made thinking in a more attractive route and better comfort for the participants.

We remind you that the Pyrenees Stage Run is a 7-stage race, with daily runs of about 30km and 2000m uphill. The participants in the PSR will live an adventure from start to finish with all the services included: food stations, massage on the finish line, accommodation, dinners, luggage transport, photographs, videos...

All this, means that 90% of the participants are international runners who come to enjoy the Pyrenees in a fully organized adventure. Registration will open on November 30 with only 120 spots available.

On the other hand, the 5th Costa Brava Stage Run, also organized by BiFree Sports from April 14 to 16, 2023 between Blanes and Portbou in 3 stages, has already reached the limit of 240 entries, thus setting the record for the event both in the total number of registrations and for closing 5 months before the race.

The organization has opened a waiting list to fill the withdrawals that occur until the start of the race. Thus, the Costa Brava will receive runners from 28 different nationalities in an edition that promises to be a party and the definitive consolidation after two consecutive years closing registrations.

For more information about all the services included and registration, you can visit their respective web pages https://psr.run and https://cbsr.run.

The Pyrenees and the Costa Brava Stage Run would not be possible without the support of Main Sponsor Tuga Active Wear and the BiFree Sports organization.
