The Amazean Jungle Thailand by UTMB® 2025 drew to a spectacular close on May 4th, after three days of exhilarating trail running competition and vibrant community engagement in the unique setting of Betong, Yala Province. From May 2nd to 4th, over 4 thousands of runners from across Thailand and over 50 countries and territories tackled the challenging yet breathtaking trails, further cementing the event's status as a premier race in the UTMB® World Series.
Participants were immersed in the "Amazean" experience, navigating the lush, diverse landscapes of Thailand's southernmost district. The event showcased not only the demanding beauty of Betong's rainforests and misty mountains but also the warm hospitality and rich cultural tapestry of the region. The atmosphere throughout the weekend was electric, fueled by the determination of the runners and the enthusiastic support from local communities and spectators.
With a range of distances from the flagship BETONG 100M (109km) down to the community-focused Saturday Night Run 4K, the event successfully catered to athletes of all abilities, from elite international trail runners to first-time participants. The successful execution of all race categories underscored the commitment of the organizers, volunteers, and local authorities in delivering a world-class trail running festival.
"The success of this year's Amazean Jungle Thailand by UTMB® fills us with immense pride. Witnessing such a diverse field of runners, from elite athletes to enthusiastic local participants, push their limits and passionately embrace the spirit of trail running in Betong was truly inspiring. We are particularly proud of our close collaboration with the Betong community. Their partnership in co-organizing the event and their invaluable knowledge of what makes Betong so special – its unique attractions, rich culture, recreational opportunities, local handicrafts, and exceptional hospitality – were instrumental in elevating the overall 'Amazean' experience for everyone involved. As this event continues to grow and flourish, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our dedicated partners, tireless volunteers, and the wonderfully supportive community of Betong who make this achievement possible." said Thiti Yakul, Executive Race Director of Amazean Jungle Thailand by by UTMB®.
