The Siguniang Ultra Tour took place during this first weekend of November 2018 in China's Sichuan Province. This 7th and last race sounded the death knell for the Discovery races for the year 2018! At the same time, this weekend, the registrations for the Western States Endurance Run took place.

ULTRA-TOUR SIGUNIANG

This last race of the Discovery series 2018 probably fueled your first weekend of November.
We set the scene for you: we are on Mount Siguniang, which is part of the UNESCO World Heritage. The runners prepare to take on more than 101 km, with 4,230 meters of elevation gain, crossing 4 mountains and climbing to the summit of a pass at 4,967 meters above sea level.

Just for that, this race was worth the detour. The runners got an eye full. They ran around a beautiful frozen lake wit in the background, Mount Siguniang. Unbelievable!

Duoji, who took second in the previous edition, returned this year with the intention of finishing in first place this time. And after 15 hours and 46 minutes of racing, it was over! Duoji took the race... #NeverGiveUp!

In the women section, it was the Spanish Uxue Fraile who imposed herself in the most beautiful way. Indeed, this race put an end to her season, so what better than to finish on a sweet victory note, bravo!

The Ultra-trail Mount Siguning was the last race of a series of 7 Discoveries on the 2018 season.

REGISTRATION FOR THE WESTERN STATES ENDURANCE RUN

Registrations for the Western States® Endurance Run have started, only 1 day left!

The Western States® is the oldest 100-mile trail race in the world. This is an emblematic race of the Ultra-trail® Wolrd Tour, which is now courted by a lot of people. The number of applications received each year far exceeds the number of applications that can be accepted.

That's why they had to set up a lottery system so that everyone could have a chance at participating one day.

How it works ?

Each lottery candidate must complete a qualifying race within the allotted time during the qualifying period (for example, 2019: November 6, 2017 to November 4, 2018).
The names of all entries are placed in a "hat" and drawn at a public lottery held at Placer High School in Auburn each fall.

Each runner who participates in the lottery and fails to enter the race and re-enrolls the following year will double his or her odds of being drawn the following year, thus improving their likelihood of being selected.

Some have been waiting upwards of 7 years to be drawn! #NeverGiveUp
